The Sindhuli Tree of Bagjoda
Dharma Sangha’s Hidden Meditation Site Revealed

Newly
Revealed Dharma Sanga's 2nd Meditation Tree
The Paldendorje.com team together with Ven. Khenpo Gyurme and our guide Mr. Sagden (one of the very few people who saw Most Ven. Dharma Sangha during his disappearance) went to the dense jungle of Bagjodha where Most Ven. Dharma Sangha spent ten months during his disappearance in 2006. The Bagjodha site has only recently been revealed.
Near from Pashaha Bridge is Naukilo. From Naukilo we went north approximately 6 kilometers and reached the Bagjodha site without any difficulties. The jungle was very dense. We were surprise not to see any cattle during our whole journey. According to Khenpo there are no water resources so people do not often bring cattle into the area. Only a few people pass through area either to hunt or to gather wood. The name Bagjoda means tiger (Bagh) and group (Jodha in the local tongue). The place is so named because people say that it is always possible to see tigers nearby.

Mr Sangdan showing us the Tree Mark .
After half and hour bike ride we reached the place where Mr. Sagden had marked the tree to be able to identify the spot a long time ago. After approximately 300 meters we reached to the tree where Most Ven Dharma Sangha spent his ten months meditating. The tree was smaller than we imagined. Mr. Sagden told us that they saw Most Ven. Dharma Sangha for the first time under this Sindhurey tree. He said that the place was covered by bushes then. A forest fire has destroyed them all. He added that when they came to hunt they saw Dharma Sangha meditating under this tree and they bowed to him and got blessed.

Ven Khempo Gurme at second Meditation Tree
According to the Ven Khenpo Gyurme this is the one of the trees where Most Ven. Dharma Sangha received many Dharma insights from the deities and Buddhas. He says further that this is a bodhi tree. Not only pipal trees are called bodhi trees. All trees under which one reaches enlightenment can be called Bodhi trees and should be preserved. He added that this place is very important and will play very important role in the future. He intends to request the committee members preserve the tree.
Mr. Sagden says that they saw Ven. Dharma Sangha a second time under a different tree, but he says he cannot identify the other tree as they did not mark it at that time. They watched him from the distance when suddenly Ven. Dharma Sangha woke up and start prostrating. He walked away a few steps and was out of sight. He added the visibility was very good and the bushes were not so dense but they could not find him again.
